Samsung Galaxy S26 Series: Early Dimensional Estimates of the Display, Chassis, and Camera Structure
There are plenty of rumors circulating about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series, but physical dimensions are often discussed only at a very high level. For the manufacturing of accessories such as screen protectors and protective cases, however, more precise estimates are essential well before the official launch.
In this article, we review early dimensional estimates of the Galaxy S26 series displays, overall chassis dimensions, front camera placement, and rear camera structure—specifically from the perspective of accessory design. The focus is strictly on physical dimensions and structures, not on other technical specifications of the devices.
What are these estimates based on?
Designing screen protectors and cases requires anticipating physical dimensions before devices are officially released. Display panel size, external chassis dimensions, camera structures, and device thickness directly determine how protectors can be cut and shaped so that they fit correctly without degrading usability or functionality.
Because our screen protectors are manufactured in Finland and always dimensioned per device, our work is based on a manufacturing-driven analysis rather than on isolated rumors. Estimates are formed by combining multiple independent sources and observations, which are cross-checked before drawing conclusions.
In particular, the evaluation draws on:
publicly known device architectures and physical constraints of components
publicly visible sizing solutions from various accessory manufacturers, fitment observations, and evaluation models commonly used in the accessory industry
early molds and alignment frames used in accessory manufacturing
our own physical test cuts and fitment analyses
comparisons with dimensions of previous model generations and observed structural trends
Verified accuracy in previous models
For example, with the iPhone 17 lineup, physical dimension estimates were available to us roughly one month before the official launch. Compared to the published final dimensions, the estimates were effectively correct across all models except the iPhone 17 Pro, where the total device thickness differed by approximately one millimeter.
That deviation was documented and incorporated into further development of the prediction model. It had no impact on the fit or functionality of the screen protectors.
Why these estimates are reliable
Reliability is based on process, not on a single source. Dimensional estimates are not made on the basis of one observation alone, but only when multiple independent signals support the same outcome. For each device generation, we compare early estimates against final specifications and feed observed differences back into subsequent models.
For this reason, these estimates are not speculation, but technical forecasting from an accessory-manufacturing perspective, aimed at ensuring that protectors fit correctly from day one of the device’s release.
Display dimension estimates (panel size)
The measurements below describe the active display area, not the external device dimensions. Accessory-industry cutting and fitting tolerances have been taken into account.
Chassis thickness refers to the core device structure; rear camera modules form a separate protrusion that increases total thickness in the camera area.
Galaxy S26 Ultra (display)
Width: ~75.7 mm (±1 mm)
Height: ~161.5 mm (±1 mm)
Galaxy S26+ (display)
Width: ~74.6 mm (±1 mm)
Height: ~157.5 mm (±1 mm)
Galaxy S26 (display)
Width: ~71.2 mm (±1 mm)
Height: ~146.0 mm (±1 mm)
Front camera placement and its importance for privacy protectors
Front camera placement is especially critical when designing privacy and matte screen protectors. If the camera is partially covered by a privacy filter or matte surface, image quality may degrade or the camera may fail to function entirely.
Based on early estimates:
the front camera is centered at the top of the display
the distance from the top edge of the display is approximately ~5 mm (±2 mm)
This positioning allows a clear cut-out area for the camera without compromising privacy functionality.
External dimensions and chassis thickness
In addition to display dimensions, accessory design must account for the device’s external size. Frames and internal structures increase overall dimensions relative to the display panel itself.
In general, total device dimensions are approximately:
+2.5 mm in height compared to the display
+3.5 mm in width compared to the display
This allowance is particularly critical for cases and frame-fitting accessories. Typical design tolerances are ±0.5–1.0 mm to ensure proper function despite minor manufacturing variations.
Galaxy S26 Ultra – estimated chassis dimensions
Height: ~162.4 mm
Width: ~76.5 mm
Thickness: ~7.8 mm
Galaxy S26+ – estimated chassis dimensions
Height: ~156.6 mm
Width: ~72.7 mm
Thickness: ~7.3 mm
Galaxy S26 – estimated chassis dimensions
Height: ~147.5 mm
Width: ~69.8 mm
Thickness: ~6.8 mm
Rear camera structure estimates
Galaxy S26 Ultra
The rear camera structure of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to follow a familiar layout:
three larger camera modules
two smaller sensors
an LED flash positioned between the smaller sensors
Structurally, the layout resembles that of the S24 Ultra and S25 Ultra, which simplifies early case design around the camera area.
Galaxy S26 and S26+
For the Galaxy S26 and S26+:
three cameras arranged vertically
LED flash positioned to the right of the two upper cameras
This structure directly affects camera clearance and case fitment.
Why dimensions rarely change significantly at this stage
Display panel size, chassis proportions, and camera structures are typically locked in early, as they define the physical architecture of the device. Later changes more often affect internal components rather than external dimensions.
For this reason, early dimensional estimates from accessory manufacturers tend to be very close to the final specifications.
Summary table (easy to cite)
| Model | Display (width × height) | Chassis (h × w) | Thickness | Rear camera structure |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26 Ultra | ~75.7 × 161.5 mm | ~162.4 × 76.5 mm | ~7.8 mm | 3 large + 2 small, LED centered |
| Galaxy S26+ | ~74.6 × 157.5 mm | ~156.6 × 72.7 mm | ~7.3 mm | 3 cameras in a row, LED on the right |
| Galaxy S26 | ~71.2 × 146.0 mm | ~147.5 × 69.8 mm | ~6.8 mm | 3 cameras in a row, LED on the right |
Note
These are not Samsung-confirmed dimensions. The estimates are based on early physical measurements and may still change prior to the official release.
